Job Purpose
External collaborations are an important part of AstraZeneca's pre-clinical (Discovery) R&D activities. SPBD Discovery is the primary contact between the Discovery organisation and external academic, industrial and governmental institutions.
Strategic Planning & Business Development, Discovery CVGI and SPBD Discovery CNS, based in Mölndal and Södertälje respectively, supports the establishment of external collaborations for the research areas and is responsible for meeting the specific collaboration needs of the Discovery organisations. In addition, using its unique skill set, SPBD Discovery also provides support for both the Therapy Area and Clinical Development. The role will require travels between the two sites as the Business Development Associate will perform work on behalf of both CVGI and CNS. The role can be positioned in either Mölndal or Södertälje.
The Role
• Coordinate the deal flow process through Dealz (SPBD Alliance Mgmt database)
• Prepare MTA's, CDA's etc. from legal templates
• Facilitate the transaction process
• Provide post-deal administrative support on contractual matters
• Participate in the management of collaboration activities in the two RA's
• As part of SPBD Discovery, promote AstraZeneca as preferred partner.
Minimum experience/requirements
The right candidate will have the following profile:
• Experience in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably from Discovery;
• Experience in establishing and managing scientific collaborations with external partners;
• Excellent collaborative and communicative skills;
• Drive and energy;
• Ability to balance many different competing demands
