BUSINESS CONTROLLER - THE ROLE
We are now looking for a new Business Controller to join our team as one of our colleagues is moving on to new and exciting opportunities. With several big projects won and more coming ahead, all supporting the green transition, we are looking for a new colleague to join us on this journey ahead.
You will be part of our Business Controlling team, which currently consists of four colleagues, where you will be partnering up with our business unit Civil. You will support and co-create together with the management team to evaluate financial performance in relation to COWI's strategy. You have a great role in creating financial transparency and hold financial overview.
In this role, you work closely with our Senior Vice President for Civil, while also daily collaborating with your colleagues in finance. The Business Controlling group is part of our fantastic finance team, consisting of 20 people located in our Swedish headquarters in Gothenburg. You will also be part of a strong financial team in our global setting with colleagues located in Norway, Denmark, UK, North America, and Lithuania. In this role you will report directly to our CFO.
Your key responsibilities:
Being the business trusted advisor and partner in financial matters to help line managers achieve their targets based on COWI's strategy
Analyses, reports, and presentation material for the management team
Preparation of forecasts and budget
Ensuring uniform management reporting
Participating in and leading projects in the financial area both locally and globally
As we operate in several locations in Sweden, the position may require future travels, mainly to our offices in Stockholm and Malmö.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, and you have a non-prestigious, business partnering and curious mindset. You are confident in your competence and thrive in combining the strategic thinking and operational skills. Furthermore, you have a genuine interest in working close to the business.
On top of that, you have:
5 years of experience in a similar role
A master's degree in business administration, industrial economics or similar
Demonstrated experience in working closely with the business in a partner role
Analytical skillset and an understanding of how to divide problems into relevant parts, securing quality in the details while keeping the overview of the deliverables
Fluency both in Swedish and English
Excellent skills in Excel
Furthermore, experience from working in a consulting firm is meritorious.
