The Interface Development Business Analyst (BA) is tasked with maintaining existing Advent Custodial Data (ACD) interfaces and eventually building new ACD transformation engines. Using a proprietary transformation tool, the BA will use a Graphical User Interface to convert custodial data to daily positions, transactions, and market data files. The files are consumed by Advent?s APX and AXYS portfolio management systems. Maintenance of existing interfaces involves correcting data bugs or adding feature enhancements, when supporting Advent?s clients and escalated through the Interface Management team.
Although Data Services Business Development is currently in London, this Data Solutions role may have the opportunity to be located in a flexible location based on the candidate.
Skill Sets:
The ideal candidate will have a background in custodial data, transaction reconciliation, and portfolio management software at a Data Analyst or Support level. They will be comfortable with looking at custodial data through text editors such as Ultra Edit, Excel spreadsheets, and SQL database queries. The position does not require a developer?s skill set, but the BA should be technically inclined and comfortable using technology solutions. Some knowledge of scripting solutions, like Jscript or SQL, is required. Candidate should also have an understanding of portfolio accounting, including simple financial transactions as well more complicated scenarios and products. Notably, one must understand the impact of booking these transactions accurately for performance measurement and reconciliation. Financial services background with a Series 7 certification is desirable.
