The Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy is a part of the Department of Laboratory medicine at Lund University, and is located at the Biomedical Centre (BMC) in Lund. The research groups at the department are focused on development of cell and gene therapy for blood disorders, as well as studies of blood stem cells and their properties.
Job assignments
The applicant will work on a project to develop gene therapy for Gaucher disease, using our mouse model for Gaucher disease, patient samples and viral vectors. Some teaching within the field of Gene Therapy will be expected.
Qualifications
The applicant must have a PhD, and at least two years of experience as a Post doc, and proven scientific skills within a relevant field. Good knowledge and experience in hematopoiesis and viral vectors is expected as well as a strong background in the genetics and biology of metabolic disorders. Previous experience and knowledge about Gaucher disease is considered an advantage. Furthermore experience from teaching within the area of Gene Therapy is important.
