The Department of Biosciences and Nutrition performs research and education in areas of medical science including bioorganic chemistry, molecular endocrinology, cancer biology, functional genomics, systems biology, epigenetics, structural biochemistry, cellular virology, and nutrition. The department offers an international study and working environment, including around 300 scientists, students, administrative and technical personnel.

Division
The Andersson Lab, led by Assistant Professor Emma R Andersson, studies the roles of genes and the environment in controlling embryonic development.

We employ mouse models, whole genome sequencing of patient samples, single cell RNA sequencing, generation of high throughput reporter systems and ultrasound-guided in utero nano-injection to discover which genes control specific embryonic processes, and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Our group includes an international mix of developmental biologists, cell biologists, cancer pathologists, and biophysical researchers. Our work is funded by the Swedish Reseach Council, the Center of Innovative Medicine and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (for full list please see our website www.anderssonlab.com). We now seek a passionate expert in bioinformatics to integrate into the team and be a part of several different projects.

Duties
The candidate is expected to support existing projects with in depth bioinformatical or computational analyses. Depending on the candidate, this position could be expanded to include own projects and papers as first author.

The candidate will analyze data generated by the different projects. This can include bulk RNA sequencing data, single cell RNA sequencing data, high throughput reporter assay modelling, data mining from different repositories, creation of models for how signaling pathways are controlled, and more.

Entry requirements
The applicant should have:

- Strong programming skills such as Perl, Python, JAVA, C/C++ programming knowledge in Unix/Linux environments.?
- Proven experience of software development in Bioinformatics.
- Proven expertise in biostatistics, large-scale computing, biological data analysis.
- Proven experience in Single-cell sequencing analysis, Chip seq, or modelling.
