You will be at the heart of the NIRA engineering team that makes ideas come alive in the exciting future of connected and autonomous vehicles. You will work with cutting edge technologies to analyze e.g. the road surface and provide this information in real time to connected and autonomous vehicles on a global scale. This means that you will take part of shaping the future for autonomous vehicles by allowing the vehicle to "see around the corner" and know in advance if the road is slippery or if there are any obstacles to avoid.
As our technical lead you will build up the team working on backend algorithms. You will be responsible for applications & infrastructure and will work closely with both the marketing department as well as the engineering teams. In this context you will also draft the roadmap for our backend products and services of today and tomorrow. You will work as a cross team competence and will be given great possibilities to realize your own ideas - which we expect you to do!

So, who are you? Besides a general high level of greatness, we suspect you might possess the following good stuff:
PhD or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience working with Big Data & Machine Learning
5+ years of experience working with Java and optionally newer JVM-based languages such as Scala
Working experience with creating big data pipelines using Hadoop, Kafka, Storm, Spark, Flink or similar.
Experience in systems development in one or more of: C, C++, C#, Java, Python.
Working knowledge of working with databases like postgresql
Basic understanding of geodata
