About the Role:
As a Backend/DevOps Engineer at Icomera you will be a part of a team that develops software for modern and advanced backend systems and web platforms. Core competences are experience in Python, Kubernetes and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The product that you would be mainly working on is an innovative system for configuring the onboard networks and other related services for thousands of trains and buses across the world. We are looking for someone who has at least a few years' experience of programming and development, and ideally is a senior developer.
Location and work dynamics:
The position is based in our Gothenburg office at Odinsgatan 28 in central Gothenburg, a few minutes' walk from the central station. At Icomera, we apply a hybrid work environment with the majority of working hours at the office.
Key Responsibilities
Write and maintain high-quality backend code for modern web applications.
Manage Kubernetes clusters and deployment pipelines, ensuring efficient delivery of software updates across scalable infrastructure.
Contribute to the evolution of team processes and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Communicate with and support team members and other stakeholders within the business.
Requirements
A relevant university degree in IT or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Experience of working with Kubernetes.
Have good knowledge of Python (minimum 1 years' experience).
Minimum 5 years' experience in working with software development for backend systems and/or modern web applications.
Experience of at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP or similar).
Have experience of working with CI / CD pipelines (Gitlab, Github, AzureDevOps, ...).
Excellent communication skills in English.
It's meritorious if you also have one or more of the following:
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Have experience in working with Postgres databases.
Experience in working with Typescript and React.
Proficient in spoken and written Swedish.
