Automotive Regulatory Expert

The Regulatory Affairs, Environment department is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, summarizing and communicating to the Volvo organization regarding regulations and development of future regulations covering all regulated emissions, and fuel consumption as well as areas such as noise, materials, chemicals substances and recycling. The group also represents Volvo in some important national and international automotive manufactures organizations in the field of environment that are critical to Volvo to drive and facilitate our positions.

We are now looking for an Automotive Regulations Expert within our Environment team. The areas of responsibility will be to focus on environmental issues within the area of Vehicle Emissions worldwide. You will interact with many functions both internally and externally. In the role you will monitor the auto industry's environmental technical requirements and the development of these such as the prevention technology for exhaust emissions, chemical substances and noise. You will collaborate closely with various areas within R&D, responsible for technology strategies and target setting. Your responsibility would also be to represent Volvo in national and international automotive rulemaking bodies and automotive industry trade organizations within markets such as North America or China. Within this framework you will be requested to do some travelling. As an Automotive Regulatory Expert you will also support with knowledge activities performed by local regulatory representatives on markets such as Japan, Korea and South America as important examples.

Main responsibilities

• Represent Volvo and lead Volvo positions as a subject matter expert in relevant working groups for your subjects internally and externally
• Monitor, summarize and distribute information regarding future legal requirements and customs requirements
• Informing the Volvo organizations of current and future requirements
• Keeping the Volvo Legal requirements database up to date with relevant legal requirements on all applicable markets
• Supporting the organization with interpretations of future and current requirements

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. or equivalent
• Background in the field of environmental subjects and regulatory analysis
• Strong leadership skills
• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Swedish
• Good knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications, Share Point, intranet/internet
