hela Sverige The FlexFactory and KUBio offerings are getting more attention on the market and the number of proposals going out has increased from 50 in 2014 to an expected ~200 in 2016. ES strives to standardize the offerings but is meeting a broad range of requests that require not only knowledge about the processes but also about Automation and how that can support our customers to be successful.
Essential Responsibilities
To meet the budgets for the winning proposals the most difficult estimates are the ones related to automation. For this reason ES seeks to enroll an automation expert that can be involved in pre-contract customer discussions. With a good understanding of the challenges and the technology and capabilities to explain to the customers the pros and cons of a solution the automation expert shall drive the discussion to conclusion on the best possible path forward. The expert should be able to understand the risk profile of different solutions and provide estimates that will ultimately improve the precision of the project budgets.
Qualifications/Requirements
The Automation quotation person shall be the expert on automation-related questions in the team and will be the one coordinating the detailed automation discussions with the customers when special knowledge is required, leveraging his own expertise and key subject matter experts in Bioprocess. The results of such key discussions will be captured in descriptions for proposals and calculations of automation related hardware, software and services costs.
Expectations are that the automation quotation person shall be able to write the automation related sections of a proposal to describe the benefits, the limitations and the technical details.
Work description:
Participate in telephone conferences and face-to-face meetings with customers to discuss automation related questions.
Write summary documents and descriptions of agreed paths forward for ongoing discussions on automation
Write automation related sections of proposals
Take responsibility for the automation related estimates (hardware, software and hours) for project budgets (and indirectly the customer price for implementation of the offered solution) based on templates, discussions, internal investigations and other activities to secure a correct estimate

Desired characteristics:
Good knowledge in the field of automation systems
Ability to learn and connect with other experts to quickly broaden knowledge to cover all systems in scope of offerings
Good communication both written and verbal and an ability to write legible technical texts in English
Self-reliant and able to stand by and argue for estimates based on solid knowledge
Structured and well versed in Excel to provide good background data for the estimates
