Powertrain Laboratories is responsible for test cells, workshops and test objects within Powertrain Engineering. The department consists of 260 persons divided into 4 sections. The Emission Laboratory is one of the sections performing emission testing on complete vehicles for development, certification and conformity of production.
As a part of the Emission Laboratory the group Emission Engineering consists of 14 dedicated individuals with different background and different age. The varieties of tasks handled by the group are broad, from constructing test facilities, supporting product launches and coming legislations, to maintain, calibrate and service instrumentation, gas distribution systems, computer equipment and software related to emission testing.
We also support the Emission Laboratory and other internal customers with calculations, education, technical know-how and also to perform correlation testing within the lab.
Job Description:
Act sub-ITAM (ITApplicationManager) and/or interface towards Volvo IT for software applications and tools used in the development process
Participate in pre-study, investigations and project documentation for projects within Powertrain Laboratories related to emission testing
Create software specifications in collaboration with the suppliers
Implement projects with suppliers and other project members
Develop "expert know-how" of the agreed software applications
Support customers by creating macros, reports of various parameters
Initiate, drive and verify software updates of the agreed applications
Educate users of the agreed software applications
Constantly improve working processes and routines
To keep communication with our foreign and local suppliers through the agreed communication channels
Desired qualifications (not sorted in order of importance):
Master of Science degree in relevant area (D, E), or equally valuable working experience
Documented programming skills (TSQL, VBScript, Visual Basic, Java)
Experience from Oracle environment
Experience from project work in teams
Fluent in English, verbal and written form
Analytical skills
Ability to urge for given results
Ability to take large own responsibilities
Good communication skills
Experience from emission testing or other kinds of vehicle/engine testing
MS Office, Lotus Notes, MS Projects
