The lnstitute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as individual academic courses within the first and second cycle of higher education. The basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead to both a professional degree and a bachelor's degree. The training of midwives and the specialistnursing course with different orientations lead to a professional registration in combination with master's degree. All professional programmes lead to a professional registration. Moreover, the freestanding courses are offered at an advanced level, which gives the possibility to continue studying towards a master's degree in one of the institute's main topics; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and health care pedagogics. The institute also offers a postgraduate programme leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.
SUBJECT AREA DESCRIPTION: In nursing knowledge is developed about health and a good life despite illness or disability and a peaceful and dignified death. In nursing, it is not illness or disability, but person's experience, interpretation and reactions to illness and disease that is focused.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS: The responsibilities include 50 % teaching, course coordination, supervision and examination mainly within the nursing sciences at an undergraduate level, but may also include teaching at an advanced and PhD level at the institution. The assignment as a course coordinator involves developing and coordinating leaming objectives, learning activities, assessments and assessment criteria in relation to the content, purpose and pedagogical research, and to assure the quality of the education based on validated forms of evaluation. The responsibility further includes 50 % research in nursing focusing the research profile at the institute person-centred care and/or one of the research groups; childbirth, personcentred care in long-term conditions, learning and leadership, health care transition, acute and critical care, care environment, and palliative care. The holder of the position is expected to actively work towards achieving the objectives of the institution's business plan and to participate in planned meetings and activities held at the institution. The holder of the position is also expected to actively initiate and apply for external funding. The applicant is expected to teach in Swedish.
