hela Sverige We are now looking for an associate senior lecturer in Chemistry/Biology, specialising in Plant Biology/Biochemistry, for fixed-term employment of 4-6 years at the School of Science and Technology.
The person we are looking for has the ambition to continue to develop as a researcher, a research leader and university teacher while contributing to the continued development of the research and teaching already established at Örebro University. At the School of Science and Technology, internationally renowned research is pursued in biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics, computer science, and mechanical engineering.
The associate senior lecturer shall pursue research in Chemistry/Biology at Örebro Life Science Center at the School of Science and Technology on Örebro University's main campus. The associate senior lecturer position involves research, teaching and deputy leadership of a research group.The Örebro Life Science Center provides a creative multidisciplinary environment with a focus on basic and applied research of living systems.
Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities involve research, research leadership, teaching and collaboration. During the period of employment, an associate senior lecturer shall develop their autonomy as a researcher and acquire further qualifications in terms of research/artistic skills, teaching skills and leadership skills to meet the criteria for a position as a senior lecturer. An associate senior lecturer shall also contribute to the University's development.
The research focus for the position is Plant UV Photochemistry/Photobiology. The successful candidate ideally has substantial own research experience in Plant UV Photochemistry/Photobiology, angled towards molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or plant physiology. Other important duties and responsibilities include applying for external research funding, promoting internationalisation and collaboration, and contributing to the leadership of the Plant UV Photochemistry/Photobiology research group. Duties and responsibilities may also entail supervision of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. In addition, the associate senior lecturer shall contribute to the teaching in Chemistry or Biology.
Eligibility
Those qualified for appointment as an associate senior lecturer are candidates who have been awarded a doctoral degree or have the corresponding research competence. Priority should be given to candidates who have been awarded their doctoral degree or acquired the corresponding competence no more than five years before the application deadline. Candidates who have obtained their doctoral degree prior to that should also be considered, if special grounds exist. Such grounds may comprise leave of absence due to illness, parental leave, or other similar circumstances.
