Then the position of Associate QA manager role at PDS is the place for you!
Paradox development studio is now looking for an Associate QA Manager to lead our efforts towards making even better quality games. We aim to be the best grand strategy game developer in the world and making sure the games we make have good quality is of highest importance.
You will be expected to lead a team of highly skilled Quality assurance professionals and help them develop their talents. All under the guidance of the QA manager and the Verification manager.
In your role you will work closely with the game development teams, developers of the world's greatest Grand strategy games, to make sure the games reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibility is to be a manager for a team of QA professionals. That means coaching them towards individual and team excellence, conduct performance reviews, help employees with setting goals both for their career and daily work, having development talks and salary reviews etc.
Assisting the QA Manager with making sure that the QA department is organized, staffed and led in a manner that secures success, both today and in the future.
Help create the long term QA vision and communicating it both within the QA team and other departments.
Keeping up-to-date with the state of the game projects and their testing needs.
Recruiting more talent to the QA department
Required qualifications
Previous leadership experience. In project management or other manager roles
Experience of working in the games industry
Excellent written and oral English communication skills
Pluses
Experience with game/software Quality Assurance. E.g. experience with bug reporting tools such as Mantis or Jira
Experience setting up test plans and executing them
A passion for the strategy game genre. Especially if you are familiar with the PDS games such as Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron.
Game development education
On a personal level our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, has a positive attitude, team oriented, and good at organizing. You should be able to work independently, proactively and take initiative for making changes when necessary. Understanding of Paradox Development Studio games is highly valued.
