Lund University School of Economics and Management is one of eight faculties within Lund University. More than 4 000 students and 450 researchers, teachers and other staff are engaged here in training and research in economic history, business administration, business law, informatics, economics, statistics and research policy.

Subject
At the Department of Business Administration in Lund, we conduct research on entrepreneurship, finance, research policy, marketing, organisation and leadership, accounting and strategy.

The focus is on management of business and public organisations, and on the conditions for this in a broad sense. The specific specialisation within business administration is less important than interest, skill and experience of research and teaching on organisation issues.

Qualifications and duties
The successful candidate must have a PhD in business administration or an equivalent level of research expertise in another relevant subject. Priority will be given to those who have completed a PhD in business administration or achieved an equivalent level of expertise within the seven years prior to the closing date for applications. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate documented teaching expertise. A good ability to develop and carry out high-quality research and good teaching ability form the assessment criteria for the appointment. The duties comprise both teaching and research. The teaching may be at undergraduate, Master's or doctoral level. Administrative duties may also be included.

Assessment criteria
The School of Economics and Management aims for a balance between research and teaching in all posts. In assessing the candidates, equal weight will therefore be given to expertise in research and in teaching. Administrative skills will also be taken into account. In the overall assessment of research expertise, particular weight will be given to publication in journals with an international peer review system and experience of obtaining external research grants. Furthermore, the ability to engage with the wider society will be taken into consideration.

The overall assessment of teaching qualifications will take into account training in teaching and learning in higher education, teaching experience and teaching skill.

Research and teaching experience in fields of relevance to the specialisation of the post are particularly desirable. The ability to plan and deliver teaching and supervision in other areas of business administration is also desirable, e.g. strategy, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance and accounting.

The ability to participate in the research activities within the existing organization group is desirable. The holder of the post is to be able to demonstrate research expertise from studies in business administration or another subject of relevance. Documented skills in using both qualitative and quantitative methods are desirable. The successful candidate must be prepared to work in a creative and changing environment and to get involved in the development of the research programmes and in the teaching activities of the department and the School of Economics and Management.

Promotion
An associate senior lecturer is to be promoted, on application, to employment as a senior lecturer on an indefinite-term contract if he or she has the qualifications required for the post and is assessed to be suitable in accordance with the qualification requirements and assessment criteria for promotion to senior lecturer (see below). An associate senior lecturer may only apply for promotion once. An application is to be submitted to the School of Economics and Management at the latest after 3 years and 6 months' employment.

Qualification requirements and assessment criteria for promotion
The requirements for appointment to a permanent position as senior lecturer are:

• Research expertise (including development)

• Teaching expertise (including development)

• At least five weeks' training in teaching and learning in higher education

Other requirements for promotion
• A high level of research expertise of relevance to the discipline and the duties of the post. This includes a good documented national and international standing as a researcher. Particular weight will be given to documented publication in international journals, including at least two papers in highly ranked journals with international peer-review system.

• A high level of teaching expertise. Particular weight will be given to a documented ability to carry out teaching and supervision at different levels of higher education and the ability to reflect on his or her own development as a teacher. Good course evaluations and an active participation in pedagogical development is required.

• Development in academic leadership through an improved ability to develop, lead and deliver education and research and/or demonstrated involvement in department duties.

• Documented ability to write successful applications for external research funding.

• Good ability to interact with wider society.

• Other personal qualities of importance to complete the duties of the post well.
