The Chief Engineer area is consisting of 20 persons located globally with purpose to be the main technical contact person to our customers. We are now seeking a Chief Engineer for placement in our customers tech center in Mullsjö.
The position requires a lot of interaction with the different roles in the organization as well as externally.
Frequent travelling is required. The main location for this position is in Mullsjö, Sweden.
Main challenges:
Develop technical project leaders that drive and motivates their teams to deliver world class products.
Ensuring that projects are steered in and balanced from a resource perspective.
Secure delivery in terms of meeting targets for product cost, product development cost, timing and technical fulfillment.
Meet the customers' ever increasing demands for design cost efficiency, product performance and quality.
Continuously be a step ahead regarding automotive shifter development.
Create a work environment attractive to the best engineers in the industry.
Drive a global team and optimize resource utilization and competence development.
Job / Skills
In this role you will be responsible to lead and further develop the European Assistant Chief Engineer organization and to secure the project R&D deliverables.
Main objectives:
Develop world class technical project leaders.
Develop and maintain customer relations personally and through your team.
Develop methods to capture and understand true customer interests as input for innovation work.
Support sales organization with technical assistance.
Monitor the competency needs driven by customer projects and advanced engineering assignments and staff the team accordingly.
Close cooperation with other functions within R&D, purchasing, production, sales and programs.
You will report to the Global Chief Engineer - Driveline Systems.
Education:
Master Degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering
Candidate profile
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within automotive.
Good communication (oral and written) in English and 1-2 other languages.
Management role within automotive engineering (OEM and/or major tier 1 supplier).
International management experience.
Co-operative team player.
Track record of developing people.
Team player with a strong drive and a positive attitude.
Solution and result driven approach, capable to prioritize and flexible in finding solutions.
