hela Sverige ME Commodity Subassemblies is part of Volvo Cars global Manufacturing Engineering organization. The department is located in Olofström. The mission is to plan, design and implement process equipment for production of subassemblies in all body-shops within Volvo Cars.
We are responsible for deliveries in new car projects, as well as working with ongoing changes and technology changes in existing production, with the aim of achieving an interference-free surrender and a satisfied customer. We develop (define, prepare), implement, introduce and maintain quality assured, efficient and standardized production systems according to established objectives. We also ensure process controlled product development with focus on efficiency and quality assured production with robust design/process/technology solutions and share best practices by working together with other units within Volvo Cars
The ME Commodity Subassembly Engineers & VME Group consists of 21 employees.
The mission for this group is to prepare/develop processes for production equipment and lead and carry out work in projects cross-functional to meet the requirements of for example Lead Times, Investment costs, Staffing, Productivity, Safety/Health/environment, Quality, Ergonomics etc
Through various forms of simulations, we develop the most optimal solutions for process and equipment utilization (process driven design), according to methods used within Volvo Cars to meet Volvo Cars requirements for product and process ability. We do also administer and update standards, methods and technical specifications that are the basis for purchasing assembly equipment
This position will be involved in the development of simulation and virtual preparation methods, ensure that strategies, standards and specifications are met in New Car project and Running changes and represent virtual preparation in concept and pre-study phase
You'll be Volvo Cars representative for virtual preparation issues in relevant forums, ensure that project prerequisites for virtual processing are available and updated as well as reporting and anchoring in current organisational structures and to clients.
Within the subproject framework, you will have to take the necessary decisions to reach agreed objectives within the area of responsibility supporting VCM (Volvo Cars Manufacturing) with its specialist expertise with the power to make decisions on technical matters. Other tasks is to report status and deviations in current systems/tools and ensure that there are action plans to achieve planned targets. The role is challenging and gives promoter knowledge.
The right candidate has
* Broad technical training, higher education or equivalent work experience
* Deep technical knowledge within Virtual Manufacturing Engineering
* Technical competence and practical experience in the field
* Good general IT skills
* Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
You have previously worked in SIEMENS software Process Designer/Process Simulate and have experience from work with automation and process preparation.
Experience in SIEMENS PDM system Teamcenter and Catia V5 is a plus.
You prefer teamwork, have business sense, drive independently, holistic view and ability to take own initiatives and have a very good knowledge of virtual preparation, simulation and verification.
