Each year IKEA Communications creates vast numbers of images, every one of which plays its part in making people's everyday lives a little better. And we need to produce even more, which presents a fantastic challenge. Product pictures are essential to the overall experience people have of IKEA and our products. They represent our range and help define and strengthen the IKEA visual identity.
Right now we're looking for an Art Director Product Communication Someone who loves to "direct the art" and produce visual identity. Someone who understands that an explanatory picture is truly worth a thousand words. And that a template is worth a thousand hours.
The Product communication department at IKEA Communications create, produce and deliver product communication. We produce 30 000 high quality images from 3D or photo, 3000 3D-models, store communication, on-pack communication and thousands of assembly instructions. All of the communication contributes to the IKEA customer understanding of IKEA products.
As an Art Director you will take creative lead in a diverse team to create and develop on-line visual product communication in high volumes. You will be responsible for:
Generate ideas and concepts for visual product communication.
Partner with the assignor and other stakeholders, to define and research the assignment and secure that the concepts meets the communication needs and purposes in the best way possible.
Together with Interior designer, Photographer, 3D artist and Retouch artist, transform concepts into visual communication in high volumes at the right quality.
Oversee in running production that the final result is in line with the original concept.
Visualize ideas together with team members and present the idea and solutions to assignors.
Develop and maintain good relations and excellent collaboration with all team members and stakeholders, within and outside ICOM.
Apply the Customer Experience Map, and IKEA positioning and communication strategies and maintain best practices.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
Education or working experience in communication, art or visual communication or equivalent.
At least 2-3 years documented work experience within the area of concept development, visual communication.
Good knowledge of IKEA trademark, visual guidelines and mandatories.
Deep knowledge of visual communication, imagery and consumer behaviors.
Good knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
