Right now, we're searching for an Art Director to join the team doing exactly that! We're building what we truly believe is the future of creative gaming, giving the players a plethora of design tools to create games, experiences and more. The Role
We are looking for an Art Director with experience in the mobile gaming space and the ability to build the overall visual style and aesthetic of a new world from scratch. Our project is ambitious and you will be part of the key leadership team in making our vision a reality.
You will be the generator and champion of the visual direction, including research, references, style, tone, world building, key art, and visual language across all facets of the game. You will eventually provide coaching, mentorship, feedback and training to Artists and other Creatives.
Responsibilities
Experience with authoring games in a full cycle, especially on the pre-production stage
Create concepts and other benchmark assets that set the bar for production
Author and own mood boards, style guides, briefs and other documentation that will support and lay out the visual direction
Solid understanding of visual design principles such as layout, color theory, graphic design, and lighting
Present ideas and vision to stakeholders and team
Partner with Game Designers and Engineers to ensure the game vision and player experience are realized
Participate in budgeting, recruiting, and shaping the art team as needed
Select, negotiate and create Statements of Work for collaborations with outsourcing art partners, as well as general direction and feedback on the work conducted by said partners
A portfolio that demonstrates and highlights your best work in games
Good to have
Open to emerging technologies such as the metaverse and play to earn
Proficient and knowledgeable in current development tools and software including but not limited to Unity, Maya or 3DS Max, Z Brush Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
Able to carry the visual development single handed through pre-production
World building and narrative experience
Proven experience formulating and developing IP
Start-up game development studio experience / mobile games experience
Personal traits
Strong communication skills
Capable of working independently with minimum supervision
Open to feedback and iterations
Interested in new gaming fields and trends
