Major Responsibilities

Act as leading technical expert in casting technology which comprises:
To provide technical product support, metallurgical and engineering expertise to customers and team members. Advise senior management, project and engineering departments of technical issues, potential solutions or product enhancements to protect and grow the business.

Manage sales of Metallurgy products in the assigned region with responsibility for sales targets at budgeted levels and margins. In conjunction with Management and other Metallurgy team members implement sales and marketing strategies for sales.

Develop strategic plans to maintain ABB Metallurgy 's competitive advantage and ensure long term growth and profitability. Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Heavy customer interaction with specific focus on technical sales and support across the region.
Responsible for the attainment of company goals such as sales budget and profit margins. Report to upper management globally and in Vasteras.

Predominant Tasks
Regularly interact with customers, Metallurgy team members and industry contacts to support the existing business strategies and identify potential sales opportunities.
Prepare and present customer proposals and product presentations.
Prepare and monitor sales budget, forecasts and market analysis.

Liaise with ABB colleagues in the assigned region.
Liaise with project and design team during the project execution to ensure meeting customer expectations.
Provide documentation of all customer proposals and compile competitor information.

This position requires a highly skilled individual with significant knowledge of engineering principles, metallurgy, sales and marketing strategies and overall business acumen.
In-depth knowledge in steelmaking and its processes is necessary
The market requirements is very much focused on sales of equipment for continuous casting and therefore in depth expertize and several years of experience in the construction and operation of billet/blooms casting machines is a must.
Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese is a must.
This position requires a Master degree in Metallurgical Engineering and at least 10 years' experience from the metal industry.
Further the position requires a flexible person who can travel on relatively short notice in order to react quickly to a dynamic environment.

ABB Metallurgy is the leading supplier of Electromagnetic stirring systems to the steel and metal industry worldwide. The center of excellence is in Vasteras, Sweden with 70 employees. Metallurgy is represented in the major steelmaking countries with sales staff of its own and in most other steel producing countries in cooperation with local ABB companies.
Role
ABB is looking for a combined role; first role as technical expert in continuous casting and second role as Senior Area Sales Manager for the South American and South European market. The position is located in Vasteras, Sweden. Expected travel is approximately 50% of the time.
