Enact's Human Rights and Business Practice Group is recruiting!
We advise and train multinational companies in the Nordics on matters of business and human rights and we are looking for a new colleague.
Who are we looking for?
You have worked within the field of business and human rights for the past 3-5 years, and importantly have worked with the UNGPs.
You have relevant experience in applying the UNGPs to business activities. Either you have worked within a company, or as a consultant. If you have worked with the UNGPs in another regard, for example in a think-tank or an NGO, we also welcome you to share with us how you believe that your experience fits into the consulting role.
You are client oriented and service minded with excellent project management skills and you are fluent in English. Swedish is a strong merit but not required. Additional languages are a merit.
You are passionate about sustainability and human rights, but you also understand the complex realities that businesses encounter when conducting their activities and being out in the field. You have proven your ability to help corporate clients navigate this field and you are able to communicate clearly but diplomatically about sensitive topics.
Do you fit with Enact?
We are looking for someone to join our HQ in Stockholm. We are a diverse team with origins from the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, the UK, Singapore, Denmark, Greece and the US and therefore have a natural inclination to look beyond borders and see the global picture. We hope you do too.
We have diverse backgrounds in international law, communication, sustainability management, diplomacy, engineering and ecosystems services. But we are also mothers and fathers; rappers and guitar players; surfers and SCUBA-divers; vegetarians and grill masters. In short, we are a very diverse group of people. This is one of the important values we celebrate and uphold. But diverse as we are, we do share a strong shared set of values, and Enact is a values-based consulting organisation.
How does the position fit in at Enact?
You will work primarily within our Human Rights and Business Practice Group. The HRBPG aims to increase the respect and support for human rights among businesses. You will be a key player in this development. You may conduct human rights impact assessments, advice on and execute human rights due diligence, develop new methodologies and support businesses to understand the business case to work with human rights. As we engage on global, regional as well as local levels, your role may include travelling within Sweden and abroad.
Your qualifications:
3-5 years of working experience with business and human rights, at a relevant organisation / company, worked directly with the UNGPs (kindly explain in your cover letter how you have worked with the UNGPs)
Relevant academic degree with regards to business and human rights
A keen interest in and basic orientation of business and sustainability
Excellent analytical capabilities and a keen eye for details
Sensitive to cultural differences and a good listener
Experience from field work in emerging markets
Experience in project management
Experience in conducting training
Excellent oral and writing skills in (preferably) both Swedish and English, any additional language is an advantage
