Manufacturing and Logistics (M&L) is the unit within CED which is responsible for developing and operating all logistics, production control, quality and maintenance applications globally.
We are and will continue to be in a major transformation journey for a long period of time where our IT portfolio will be significantly re-shaped. This journey is progressing at the same time as our business is increasing the pace of production, expanding the manufacturing footprint to more as well as increasing the pace of requesting new and improved functionality.

We have a truly dedicated team located at the factory in Torslanda who loves the pulse of working with the factory "heart". The M&L IT portfolio is a key ingredient to keep the factory running.
We are a mix of employees, consultants and partners working together with the mission of maintaining and developing robust and competitive solutions. Our area of responsibility covers production control, quality and maintenance applications in Volvo Cars Torslanda as well as the global M&L responsibility for a subset of these. This team is highly involved in the requirement work, design, and delivery of new application features and lifecycle activities, but we always start from making sure our current production is secured and optimized.
Who are you?
* You are curious and have a willingness to understand the context of the applications you work with.
* You have a talent in learning the information flow through several applications all together serving business with a robust and efficient IT environment.
* You enjoy working with our business representatives to understand and support them in defining the best way forward.
* As an Application Manager in the Production Control area you will be part of a team working with both maintenance and new development.
Main responsibilities:
* In this role you will both lead and participate through the full application life cycle
* Application governance with business representatives
* Communication and change management
* Daily operations using our ITIL processes and tools (incident management, problem resolving, documentation update, etc)
* Requirements gathering for both continuous improvements and projects
* Design of solution and test cases
* Programming and configuration of applications
* Perform acceptance tests with customers
* Plan and execute a safe deploy in production
Required qualifications
* Experience in development of business software applications
* Java programming, good Object Oriented coding practices - Hands-on development and delivery experience
* SQL
* Fluent in both Swedish and English, written as well as spoken
Meritorious
* Experience working with Agile, Lean and/or Continuous Delivery approaches
* Experience from manufacturing industry.

To succeed in this role you will have to be self-motivated, inspiring and creative. You need to be self-propelled and driven but at the same time team oriented with a holistic approach and you thrive to work with tasks where there is a possibility to use your problem solving skills. You enjoy working in a global organization and like to take on special assignments outside your daily responsibilities.
