Our main task is to conduct process and product development and to support the production units. Regardless of working methods, all our work is conducted in collaboration with other organizational units within the company and with external parties.
Job description
As a research engineer you will be involved in projects or assignments with focus on process mineralogy. Process mineralogy research aims at evaluating process, product, and residual product characteristics of existing and potential deposits. Surveys are often performed in conjunction with other mineral processing tests on different scales.
Your task will also include development and quality assurance of our working methods from sample preparation to analysis and reporting. Other tasks may also apply.
You will be based in Kiruna, but our assignment also includes LKAB:s other production sites.
Qualifications
You have an academic degree in natural sciences or technical engineering with emphasis on process mineralogy, geology, or mineral processing.
Experience with materials characterization related to mineralogy (e.g., QEMSCAN® / TIMA) and particle-based process modeling / simulation (e.g., HSC Chemistry) are meriting.
Knowledge in method development and quality assurance is a plus. Experience in iron ores and/or apatite and REE is advantageous.
You work well both independently, in workgroups and in project groups.
