hela Sverige At the section Surface Treatment Engineering we develop and deliver technical solutions, test methods, strategies and competence in the area of surface treatment. We also state technical requirements and verify technical solutions. We are divided into one engineering group and two analysis and verification (A&V) groups. Our technical area of expertise consists of pre- treatment, paint systems, corrosion protection, sealing materials, sound damping materials and car body adhesives. We are also responsible for the exterior car attribute Paint & Finish as well as securing after-market solutions within materials in the car exterior surface treatment area.
The group Coating System performs analysis and verifies the exterior paint on metals and polymers both on components and complete vehicle. We work with physical testing as well as performing appearance approvals both on different coated vehicle components and on complete car. We are also responsible for methods and standards in our area. Together with the group Corrosion Protection & Adhesives, we forms a unique surface treatment test laboratory with high competence and state-of-the- art facilities and equipment.
As a part of our team your main responsibilities will be:
* Planning, performing and reporting analysis and tests on different types of coating systems
* Lead colour assessment activities of complete vehicle
* Perform appearance approval of painted exterior parts
* Lead or be a part of method development projects
* Be a part of material development projects
Working as an analysis engineer within surface treatment means that you will establish and develop relationships with a variety of system areas, suppliers and other customers globally. As a part of our great team you get access to long term development opportunities in the challenging and exciting areas of surface treatment, coatings and paint. Your daily work will be very customer oriented and quality focused. You will develop testing and analysis skills, including use of different instruments and equipment.
Desired qualifications
* M.Sc in Chemistry / Materials or equivalent (university degree, work experience)
* Good theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the surface treatment area or chemistry and /or materials
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Meritorious qualifications
* Experience in the colour area (e.g. measurements, judgements)
* Experience from paint development
* 6-sigma education or similar
* Driver's license B
