Analysis and Verification Engineer, Charging system



Volvo Cars is growing and facing an interesting future in the electrification of Vehicles. If you would like to be part of it and you have background in Electrical engineering and testing, then we encourage you to read further and consider applying for this position!


The section EPS System Integration is part of the department Propulsion Energy System, belonging to Vehicle Propulsion Engineering unit. Our responsibilities within Electrical Propulsion System development, consists of:

* Leading of SW integration, Continuous integration (CI), Configuration management (CM), Model-based testing (MBT) and Software Quality Assurance for EPS

* Leading of HIL-MIL-development within electrical propulsion system

* Analysis & Verification on function, HV-system and sub system level for Charging and Traction Battery

* Diagnostic Analysis & Verification for Charging and Traction Battery and fault tracing of complete EPS system



The group HIL Development and Charging A&V today consists of 15 very competent members from all over the world, booth male and female. The group is working with framework for automated tests, Hardware In the Loop development and system testing. The group supports all the engineering departments within the EPS area, meaning take on the responsibility for design and deliveries of Electrical Drive Systems (El machines and Inverters), Battery Systems, as well as Power Supply and Charging Systems for electrified vehicles.


Part of that group is also Charging Analysis & Verification Team, which is now looking for a colleague in the position Analysis and Verification Engineer for Charging system, who will together with other colleagues in the team be responsible for testing the charging function on system and functional level.



As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow's testing methods within charging. You will work in cross-functional teams with other groups within the EPS and broader. Your work will be very varied as you will work both in simulated environment (running manual tests and developing automatic tests) as well as working with test vehicles. Testing will be performed in hot and cold climate around Sweden and abroad.



Main responsibilities


Besides continuous development of working processes and procedures, your daily work will be combination of diverse tasks such as:
* Planning and executing tests
* Performing sanity checks, Go/NoGo and I/O tests of complete software
* Delivering test results in a structured way, analyzing results and proposing improvements
* Developing current and new test methods
* Working closely with developers and providing them feedback and proposing improvements



Required qualifications


* B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or experience within test methodology and measurement techniques
* HW and SW testing experience
* Knowledge within High Voltage Systems & Electrical Safety is a merit
* Experience within electrical architecture and tools like, INCA, Canalyzer, Matlab/Simulink, Control/Automation-desk, Oscilloscope and other measurement equipment is meritorious
* Willingness to travel within and outside of Sweden
* Fluent in English, written and spoken; Swedish is appreciated
* Driver 's license "B"

You are a positive and safety oriented person with analytical and structural approach, who is always prepared for new challenges. Communication should be a strong skill of yours, hence placing internal collaboration and final results on higher level. Further, you need to possess a drive for changes and implementations and be engaged to the tasks that you are responsible for. Moreover, you should be a good team player and at the same time have your own drive and motivation. Due to several expeditions, you need to be prepared for traveling within Sweden and abroad.
