We are looking for a research analyst responsible for developing our analysis of China and its relations to African mining and African economic development. At present RMG is starting an intensive phase of working in Africa in the crossroads of economics and policy. In this work a correct analysis of China is of key importance. We are expanding our presence both in China and in Africa to be able to pursue this growth path. The present post is based in Stockholm but with extensive travel in all parts of Africa.
Your qualifications
The successful candidate will have an academic exam on a PhD level with emphasis on development economics and China/Africa relations in mining. He/she has excellent presentation and communication skills, is a goal-oriented researcher and team-worker. He/she is fluent in both spoken and written English and in addition to this has excellent skills in at least one additional major international language.
Experience from mineral economics consultancy, particularly with the International Financial Organizations, such as the UN system is required. Earlier knowledge of mining and/or mining equipment manufacturing will be an advantage as well as familiarity with research networks in Africa.

We work in the crossroads of mineral economics and mineral policy/strategy. Our clients include equipment and service providers, mining companies, junior exploration companies, governments, international organisations, banks and financial institutions. The company has 15 employees, 20 MSEK in revenues and excellent profitability.
Raw Materials Group is part of the IntierraRMG group based in Perth WA. The group is one of the globally leading dataproviders for the minerals industries with a total of 80 employees in Australia, Canada, Sweden and the UK.
