The group Driver Support within the department Active Safety & Vehicle Dynamics Functions is responsible for function and software development. Current Volvo products include several functions within the Driver Support area and more functions are in the works. Driver Support functions are designed to help the driver in everyday driving situations, so it is very important to always have the customers' expectations in mind. Examples of functions that we develop are Road Sign Information, Driver Alert Control, Park Assist Pilot and Blind Spot Information System. Some of the functions in the area were launched as 'world first' when they entered the market and there is a highly set goal within the group to continue delivering world-class functions.
As Function and Software developer you will work in all phases of the function and software development of Driver Support functionality. Your work will cover everything from early specifications, function model development and automatic software generation & testing, to the product launch phase, including costumer quality validation. The role spans over several technical areas such as system, model and software development. Since the functions we develop are distributed over different parts of the vehicle architecture, you will gain a wide network and have frequent interactions with employees in other departments.
Main responsibilities
• Function and software development of driver support functionality
• Create simulation models using Matlab/Simulink
• Testing of end user functionality in simulation environments and vehicles
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics, Automation (or equivalent)
• 2-5 years of work experience in function and/or software development
• PhD within Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics, Automation or a similar area is meritorious
• Experience from model development in Matlab/Simulink
• Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
• Driver's licence (B-level)
