What do we offer

Volvo Cars Safety Centre is an analysis and competence centre within Volvo Cars that drives the development of Volvo Cars' core value Safety. We cover the areas of passive and active safety and have state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The Safety Centre is responsible for the strategical safety work and development of safety requirements, traffic accident research and safety analysis within both testing and virtual development. The development is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments and external suppliers in a dynamic and international environment.

Your key tasks

The Analysis Engineer role will focus on Active Safety (AS) and Autonomous Drive (AD). A key element will be to perform physical testing to set new complete vehicle (CV) requirements, to verify CV performance AS- and AD-functions and to participate in research projects. You will also work with method development for AS- and AD-testing with and without the driver in the loop.

Daily tasks and responsibilities:
* AS and AD physical test method development
* Verification and analysis of the safety performance
* Data analysis, to give recommendations and to present results

Most of the testing will be performed at VCC's test track (Hällered) but also other test tracks.

You and your skills

As an applicant you should hold an MSc degree in Signal and systems, Control & Mechatronics, Applied mechanics or similar. You should also be fluent in English (written and spoken), hold a valid driving license and be an experienced driver.

Experience:
* Physical testing of active safety functions.
* Knowledgeable in equipment for AS-testing (mainly robots and platforms from Anthony Best Dynamics (ABD)). Experience from other equipment for AS-testing is meritorious.

* Vehicle Dynamics, multibody mechanics
* Statistical analysis
* Control algorithm development, mechatronics

As a person you are analytical, structured, like problem solving with a strong personal drive. You should also have a visionary mind-set, be positive and open-minded since you will be working in an environment where tools, methods and processes are under continuous development.
