We are currently looking for a new team member to take on the role as Acting Head of Marketing and Communication. This is a one year assignment to cover the parental leave of our current Head of Marketing and Communication.

This is how you can make an impact

In this dynamic and exciting role you will be reporting to the President of Volvo Autonomous Solutions and be part of the executive management team (EMT) of V.A.S. As member of the EMT you will not only have the opportunity to shape the direction of our business but also create enthusiasm and commitment around the MarCom function at the highest level. You will be responsible for the entirety of MarCom operations, projects and campaigns giving you a unique chance to innovate, experiment and deliver measurable results. Part of the Communications Council and other foras, this role will give you plenty of opportunities to network and represent the V.A.S. within the Volvo Group.

Who are you?

To be successful in this role, you must have a genuine passion for marketing and communications, great interpersonal skills, tenacity and interest in new technologies. You must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment that is characterized by a start-up atmosphere. Confident and comfortable working with ambiguity, you must be creative, problem-solving and ready to work hands-on.

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience from developing and driving MarCom operations that includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Strategy: Ownership over our communications strategy and campaigns that drive brand, reputational and commercial growth.
Team Management: lead and motivate a team of two marketers.
Agency Management; be responsible for the direction, output and performance of content, performance marketing and event agencies
Stakeholder Management: work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business so they understand our positioning and what our company stands for.
Story Telling; identify, frame and bring to life stories that brings our vision to life and strengthens our brand and reputation.
Internal Communications; be responsible for employee engagement and internal communications as well as working with the President of V.A.S. on their own personal communication tactics.
Content: preparing, writing and editing internal and external materials e.g. press releases, Q&As, thought leadership blogs etc.
Analytics and reporting: good understanding of MarCom KPIs and metrics. Ability to make data driven decisions and present dashboards to the executive management team.
Crisis Management; be the owner of communication channels and tactics in the case of a crisis affecting V.A.S.

To be successful in this role we believe you have the following skillset:
Experienced Communications professional, with 8-10 years experience
Experienced in internal corporate communications and /or external communications, social / digital marketing, employee engagement
Ability to think strategically and commercially
Strong understanding of social media, web and PPC advertising
Experienced in leading projects from start to finish
Able to build and manage a multidisciplinary team and agencies (i.e. copywriters, brand & communications associates, product/service marketers, etc.)
Experienced in managing internal stakeholders and 3rd party partners
A team player who is positive, hands on
Drive and resilience to deliver excellence amidst tight timelines and changing circumstance
Articulate written, visual and verbal communicator, excellent copy accuracy and proofreading skills; fluency in English is essential
