The successful candidate is to lead a project aiming at establishing cell lines producing recombinant Ig fusion proteins carrying carbohydrate determinants known to act as receptors for viruses.
We are looking for a highly motivated and independent molecular biologist who will work on the glyco-engineering of mammalian cells with the aim of establishing stable cell lines producing mucin-type fusion proteins carrying defined carbohydrate epitopes. Expertise in techniques and methods of molecular biology such as subcloning, PCR, sequencing, transfections and selection of stable cell clones is a must. Previous experience in protein expression analysis using SDS-PAGE and Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, ELISA and Biacore is necessary. Good knowledge in glycan biosynthesis and viral pathogenesis is an advantage, as is previous industrial experience.
