You have an important role supporting the design team to answer to the requests from the Head Designer.
Your role is to assist the design team to create the perfect shape and volume in combination with the chosen fabrication. You have a passion for draping, pattern making and sewing with a strong capacity to come to experimental solutions and to concur to the creative process.
The work environment at Acne Studios is fast-paced and energetic, no day is ever the same. The position is based at Acne Studios headquarters in Stockholm and reports to the Head of Studio.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Assist the designer in the development of the creative design process in a 3D way, f.e. trace moulages made by the designer, create volume proposals
• Prepare bases for the designer to start from - either in a 3D or flat way
• Support the designer with stitching toiles, testing fabrics & interlinings, making stitch trials, preparing finishings mock up
• Stitch final proto 's for proto meetings
• Communicate and work closely with the fabric & trim team - collect fabrics & trims in order to develop toiles and proto 's as close as possible to the end result
• Assist the designer in making patterns in line with your technical competencies with close supervision of the designer/pattern maker
• Assist the designer in preparing the final design/pattern for sending out to external suppliers - prepare the development sheets for each style with all technical details - prepare final finishing trials
• Take over patterns made by the designer and prepare for sending out to external suppliers
• Communicate and work closely with the product team, it is extremely important that they get all detailed information to communicate to their suppliers
• Coordinate with the pattern/atelier team - patterns plotting. Check content of the patterns, folding, piece report before handing them to Production to make sure our suppliers receive our patterns in the best way
COMPETENCIES
• Good understanding of 3D volumes & shapes
• Good technical knowledge in patternmaking
• Excellent sewing skills both on industrial and domestic machines
• Knowhow of specific finishing techniques and finishings for each product category
• Quality conscious
• Accuracy is extremely important

QUALIFICATIONS
• Specialized school or institute in patternmaking
• Previous experience as intern in a high end fashion or luxury house
• Educated/ good basics with CAD in Gerber/Lectra or a similar system
• Good command of English technical terms and experienced in communicating / working in English as this is the Company 's official language
