As a software developer you will participate in the development of Northern Storage Suite, Northern's market leading software solution for Storage Resource Management. Northern pioneered Storage Management software for Windows in 1995 and is currently looking to increase integration with NetApp and EMC. The install base currently consists of tens of thousands of organizations including Microsoft, Boeing, Nike, BMW, NASA, General Motors...
Job Description
Responsible for design, implementation and verification of software functions. Product requirements put a strong emphasis on flexibility, reliability, and scalability to support large networks and large amounts of data.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents. Perform coding to written technical specifications. Investigate, analyse and document reported defects. Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects. Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses. Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates. Interface with Customer Support for 3rd level troubleshooting of advanced customer cases.
Skills / Attributes Required
Excellent knowledge of software development with C++ language and associated development tools.
Solid knowledge of either MFC, Win32, CIFS or NTFS
Knowledge of COM programming model, database architecture and design or MS-Exchange programming is required. Experience with client-server programming model is desirable. Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents.
Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines.
High competence in English
